Amityville Woman's Club hosts annual luncheon

Event honors Sgt. John J. Kreyer VFW Post

The Amityville Woman’s Club held its annual Philanthropies Luncheon and Fashion Show  today, recognizing the VFW Post 7223 of Amityville.

The event was held at the Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore and drew a crowd of more than 160 members, their friends and families.

Members of the Sgt. John J. Kreyer VFW Post presented the Colors and served as the Honor Guard. Patriotic songs were sung and dozens of baskets and other gifts were won from the event’s Chinese Auction.

Proceeds from the event go to the Post. In addition, a $1,000 scholarship is to b e awarded to an Amityville High School senior.

Woman’s Club President Jill O’Toole welcomed everyone to the event and Karen Colfer said Grace. Chairpersons of the event were Sharyn Vetter and Caroline D’antonio.

Ellen Ricciuti was Fashion Show chairwoman and was assisted by Mickey Dineen and Donna Ferguson.

Lobel’s of Massapequa provided the children’s and teens’ fashions, which were modeled by Ethan Aissa, Hannah Aissa, Sarah Aissa, Riley DelPercio, McKenna Hansen and Grace Varley.

Adult models were Anita Caramanico, Joan Donnison, Norma Kreppein, Ethel MacGill, Joan Sutermeister and Jackie Teufel. They presented fashions by Dress Barn in West Babylon.
