Police seek public's help in apprehending rapist

Subject wanted for having sex with minor

Suffolk County First Squad Detectives and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown male who had sex with a minor.
On September 12, 2010, at 12:45 p.m., an unknown Hispanic male picked up the 16-year-old female on Albany Avenue in Amityville and took her to the Days Inn on 34th Street in Copiague, and had sex with her.
The subject was driving a small, black, four-door car and is described as about 24 years old with short black hair and a heavy build. Subject was unshaven and was wearing 3/4 length blue shorts and a white shirt.
Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
